Growing & Redefining Ourselves
- We redefined our vision and mission to be inclusive of all those we serve.
- We articulated our values in written form.
- We began work to expand the current Board of Trustees, including having discussions with potential new Board members.
- We developed overall roles, responsibilities & core competencies of expanded Board of Trustees
- Developed roles and responsibilities and core competencies of key Foundation positions.
- Rewrote our Foundation bylaws and developed a conflict of interest statement
The following accomplishments and milestones represent significant progress for the Foundation and have positioned us for accelerate growth:
Legal & IRS Status
- Incorporated as a California Non Profit 501(c)3 Corporation on January 21, 2003
- Received our favorable “Determination Letter” from the IRS as a tax exempt non profit (eligible to receive donations) in October 2004
Staffing
- 3 volunteer officers are currently spending 5 days a week among the three to operate and plan for the future development of the Foundation
- A volunteer Executive Director currently spending 3 days a week on developing the Foundation.
- A passionate and active volunteer core of 12 people
Fulfilling our mission to Educate the world in the Inspired Learning Model™ we have:
- Hosted two Inspired Leaning Invitationals for 29 visionary leaders in October 2004 and June 2005
- Completed the editing of the Inspired Learning Model™ Handbook
- Conducted 10 Basic Inspired Learning Facilitator Classes
- Created a web-based Basic Inspired Learning Facilitator Audio tape series where any one can register, download and complete the class on their own 24/7
- Conducted 6 Advanced Inspired Learning Facilitator Classes
Certification
- Developed the criteria for 3 levels of certification:
- Self-certified Inspired Learning Facilitator™
- Certified Inspired Learning Facilitator™
- Master Certified Inspired Learning Facilitator™
- Developed the Self-certified Inspired Learning Facilitator™ Celebration of Mastery
(formally known as a “final exam”)
- Approximately 25 Inspired Learning Facilitators working towards or already certified
as a Certified Inspired Learning Facilitator™
- 6 Inspired Learning Facilitators working towards or already certified as a
Master Certified Inspired Learning Facilitator™
The Howard County Public School System Project
- Co-developed the Coaching Skills for Educational Leaders Program
- Delivered a 10 month program completely within the Inspired Learning Model beginning
in August 2004 concluded in May 2005
- Collected data over the duration of the Program (statistical instruments were co-developed
with a professional education researcher)
- Initial results have been very positive (both from a statistically significant stand point
and from a human development stand point)
Future Impact of the Howard County Public School System Project
- A proposal to present the Program and the research results has been accepted by
the prestigious NSDC (National Staff Development Council) for their Annual Conference
in December 2005
- Johns Hopkins University – School of Graduate Studies have approved a Summer Institute
for this Program to be offered to Educational Leaders. Dr Katherine Johnson and Peter Reding
will co-facilitate.
- A proposal to present the Program and the research results has been accepted by the ICF (International Coach Federation) Research Symposium for their Annual Pre-Conference in November 2005
